James Teej: Thanks for having me, fire when ready
Avalon Hollywood: alright! If you could open or perform with any artist (dead or alive) who would it be? Why?
James Teej: definitely Trent Reznor… he’s one of my favorite producers and performers, and has the most amazing energy onstage
Avalon Hollywood: What has been your biggest track of the year?
James Teej: biggest track for me would be Mic Newman’s Knickerbocker on Tsuba… “Where the fuck is happiness!!”
Avalon Hollywood: definitely a good one! What’s your guiltiest after-gig meal?
James Teej: well after a gig i wouldn’t say i eat per say… but i defo enjoy a nice pizza after a weekend of gigs… proper refueling
Avalon Hollywood: can’t ever go wrong with pizza! How did you get into electronic music?
James Teej: got intro’d to acid house in 93-94 and it was love ever after. after 17 years i still get excited when i hear a dope beat
Avalon Hollywood: that’s so awesome that still happens! What’s your best drunken story?
James Teej: i think that’s a tough one because i don’t want to incriminate myself… but i would say drinking afterhours in barcelona in a boozecan across a cop station has to be one of the top ones.. especially when the spot suddenly reoppened as the police’s coffee shop at 8am… god bless spain
Avalon Hollywood: sounds like an epic story! Glad you are alright now! If you could have a superpower, which one and why?
James Teej: well i always joked that i think it would be amazing to have a useless superpower…like turning into a puddle or something. i have lucid dreams of flying, and its always the most amazing feeling… truly liberated
Avalon Hollywood: that would definitely be a conversation starter! What’s it like working with @sashaofficial??
James Teej: @sashaofficial it’s been great, sash is an amazingly talented guy, and it was a pleasure working with him… its great fun playing alongside such a legend, and i’m looking forward to continuing to work with him and his fantastic label Last Night On Earth!
