AVALON NOTORIOUS QUESTIONS : James Egbert

The up and coming James Egbert was able to spare some time for an interview! This is how it went down:

Avalon Hollywood: Attn! We are now interviewing @thejamesegbert! He is performing Friday at Avalon! How are you doing today??

James Egbert: I’m doing great! Just got into LA last night and now I’m enjoying a day in the studio working on some new music!

Avalon Hollywood: awesome! great to hear! Let’s get started! If you could open or perform with any artist (dead/alive) who would it be, why?

James Egbert: I think someone like Bach or Mozart would be really incredible. Their attention to detail is amazing and the music is epic!

Avalon Hollywood: agreed. Truly great composers. What has been your biggest track of the year?

James Egbert: I’ve been really blown away by the response to Legion, but I think my favorite may still be Milky Way Wars!

Avalon Hollywood: damn good song! What’s your guiltiest after-gig meal?

James Egbert: I went nuts at Del Taco after a show with Avicii in CO, but I hear that Cactus in Hollywood will set a new standard

Avalon Hollywood: Mexican food out here will set the bar high! If you weren’t a DJ, what other career would you be doing?

James Egbert: gotta love post-gig Mexican food! I’d probably still be producing music for other artists.

Avalon Hollywood: always good to hear! How did you get into electronic music?

James Egbert: it was probably mostly the Matrix soundtrack. I was intrigued by the sound design in the movie, and the music was the same!

Avalon Hollywood: classic movie! What’s your best drunken story?

James Egbert: I once ran a 10k at 7am the morning after playing a show and partying till 3 or 4 in the morning lol

Avalon Hollywood: that doesn’t sound like a fun story! At least you made it! ha! Why did you move from Orange County to Denver to record?

James Egbert: CU @ Denver has a good recording program from what I’ve heard but I dropped out. Real reason = girl/best friend/now wife

James Egbert: my set tomorrow is gonna be bangin, theatrical, and most of all – BONKERS! See you then!
